Can You Stop God's Tears? **1,000 Voices For Compassion**

What if 1,000 voices rang out a plea of compassion?

Would it have any result?

What if 10,000 voices rang out that same plea?

Would the result be the same?

What is the difference between a hungry baby crying in a foreign land and a hungry baby crying in the United States?  Aren't the cries and tears the same?  Don't the stomachs ache the same?

How does the homeless family find shelter in the rain and snow?  Does it matter if their home has been destroyed by bombs or taken away by greedy bankers?  Isn't the enemy just as cruel in both cases?

Where is the humanity in owning a pet and refusing to feed it, or even providing it adequate shelter from the elements?  Pets, that are so easy to please with a little love and attention, discovering that man is not the master they deserve.

And God weeps.

How did the message of love become so twisted?

How did 1% of the world's population become owners of 90% of the available money?

How did mankind become so calloused as to not see those in need and do something to ease their plight?

How did we devote ourselves to watching television, playing video games, and endless web surfing instead of doing something that could help others?

How does a restaurant throw out food at day's end while the poor starve?

And God weeps.

How can mankind allow greed to be its government's sole quest?

How can mankind allow its governments to have $1000 a plate dinners for politicians that can't feed the hungry in their own voting districts?

How can mankind allow its governments to spend billions of dollars to kill others in needless wars and not afford to provide shelters for those in need?

How can mankind continue to destroy the Earth and all of its treasures when we have no other place to live?

And God weeps.

The loudest voice of mankind is that of a rotten bastard.  A bastard that is spoiled, selfish, uncaring and greedy beyond all recognition.  A bastard that doesn't worry about his future, or the future of the children of the world.  A bastard that only wants to know he has it all, regardless of anyone else's plight.

A change is needed now.
Not next week, month or year, but NOW!

Money will be useless when food is no longer available.  Injustices will be invisible when man no longer exists.

In being the world's supposed most intelligent animal, mankind has been given the ability to show compassion, although many refuse to utilize it.  To those in positions of power, compassion is a weakness that sways them from their goals of domination, power and greed.  It is not to be tolerated.

Perhaps, they are the ones not to be tolerated.

But, without becoming like them, how do we change the way of the world?  How do we spread our desires to the millions that will inherit the Earth?  How do we show them that the ways of the past don't work if extinction is not our goal?

To change the world without violence, to change man's attitude towards greed, to intensify efforts to save our world, every living person must demand change.  It will not come without sacrifice.  It will not come without pain.  It will not come easy.

Governments must be changed.  Man's love of greed must be changed.  Television sensationalism must be changed.  Wasteful habits must be changed.  But, will they be?

God is still weeping.

Can you help stop the tears?

If not for yourself,
will you do it for them?

Will you?

Yes, we've given him much grief. But, just think of how happy we could make him if we were to change direction and become the master species he had planned us to become. Wouldn't that be amazing?

      Many Thanks!

    1. Jen - Thanks for hitting the link here. It's greatly appreciated.

Too many times we look at things in the present and forget that we're making a legacy for others to live within. The way we've destroyed the Earth and wasted precious resources over the last 50 years is shameful. Greed has been the driving force, whether it be in the way we waste things around the house to the way the timber companies slash through the Amazon. We've become the human version of army ants, destroying everything in our path with no concern for the future. If we want our children and grandchildren to have a decent chance at surviving, we've got to stop doing that now. Five more years may just be too late. I couldn't agree more that it's up to us to fix it for them. Better that than to be hated for their demise.

Your words are only too kind. Many Thanks!

Thanks for your kind words concerning this. It is a topic that you know I preach way too often, but doesn't seem to get through that much. We've all got to get busy and do something positive if we ever wish to change things. Yours is a small step, but it's a step, which is one more than most are attempting to do. I commend you for it, my friend!

      Many thanks!

  9. If that don't sound the clarion for a wake up call, I don't know what will. Such important questions that we perhaps have asked at some point, in a hushed whisper. We know wrong from right, and yet we don't raise our voice against it. If it is not in my backyard, I couldn't be bothered to clean it, I guess. But they will confiscate my backyard someday....unless I start exercising my right to be human, first. Questions that make us uncomfortable are the ones that will push us in the direction of change. Thank you for raising them, here.

    1. BG - Thank you so much for visiting my humble blog home.

We've got to start making these questions a part of our conscious effort to change things, or it will be too late. I'm not trying to be negative or predict doom, yet, in the last 60 years I've watched our society go from bad to worse. We call ourselves members of the communication age, yet we hide the important messages. Injustice is that no matter where it takes place. We must stop the "army ant" philosophy and start working for the future. At my age, I can only bring these words to light and hope that someone will carry them through. I hope that you are one of those that will.

      Many Thanks!

  10. Rich, I absolutely love this. I always say that compassion and concern has to start close to home. Absolutely children a world away need care and food and medicine. But so do children in our own communities. So important to look close to home and start there. It will spread bigtime...and maybe the "big" stuff won't ever get that way. Nice to think about...

    1. Lisa - Thanks for stopping in!

You caught something that others didn't here. If we don't help ourselves we are only looked upon as hypocrites by our own. We have so many in need in this country that it needs immediate attention. Instead, our government takes aid overseas and tells our own to starve, live in cardboard boxes, and pay for health insurance or pay a $325 fine. The government no longer sees what is in front of it, only the fantasies the wish to be the truths. Our country needs a real wake up call or ISIS and other terrorist organizations will begin to make sense to many who have no other options. I just hope it's not too late.

      Many Thanks!

  11. TOLD YOU I'D GET HERE!

Bro, this is quite brilliant. I hope people respond to your challenge, but I'm really glad that you drew the focus from talking about #1000Speak for compassion to actually DOING something. That matters.

I've decided that when my heart hurts, then it's time to do something.

    1. Hey, Sis, I'd nearly given up on you!

People love to talk, but very seldom "do". I've always been one to take command and get things done. I've done it recently at work for several new people, as well as in fighting the results of our local weather. Others sit on their butts and I push forward. That's the way I learned to do years ago if you wanted to be of assistance and make a mark. Otherwise, if no one leads, there are no followers. But, then again, I come from a different generation. That may be the old fashioned way of doing things. lol

      Many Thanks!
