I always have to ask what the item is to the one that brings it to the table. It's the only way to know what their frame of mind is considering. It also saves a lot of time talking about the wrong thing. lol Am happy you liked this one. I do try to get people thinking, also. It's a challenge for some as today's world doesn't push the philosophy, but what the hell. lol Many Thanks!Richard Rumplehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15478732756685966429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431865736422930321.post-55297972747926745822014-02-24T12:07:00.051-05:002014-02-24T12:07:00.051-05:00Cheri - So sorry! Kind of a cross between cynicism, observational humor, and a grumpy old man ... all in one. The mix-tape gives me a chance to be a little different, for the most part, and create instead of just observe. Today's was a little different, but one that I felt needed to be said. The comments are down (only about 25% of normal), even though the views are there. Either people didn't like it, didn't like what it showed them to be, or were afraid to comment because it did create a seed of thought beyond the typical blog one views. Yeah, I liked it, too! lol Glad you enjoyed! The stories of life it presents erases all color lines as people find out people are really all alike inside. Gil is a different type of artist. He was a bitter man and not afraid to speak out what was on his mind. I think he scared some of white audience with his anger at times. Still, he was one hell of a musician. He wasn't an evil man, just a product of his upbringing and the times. Still, when Diana Ross & the Supremes, Shirley Bassey, or Aretha Franklin would appear on the Ed Sullivan Show, he couldn't take his eyes off the screen. Music broke down barriers even with him. If more would just appreciate it for what it was instead of what they try to make out of it, we'd be much better off. Thanks so much for the kind words. Even then music brought everyone together. It is so fascinating, but so true. I am reading about it right now, how they would have these huge music festivals for children and all colors were welcome. This is a perfect tribute, and awesome songs!!!JenKehl.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00554791522281508816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431865736422930321.post-42807493893514021572014-02-17T22:49:02.129-05:002014-02-17T22:49:02.129-05:00I agree that music is music and it transcends so m...I agree that music is music and it transcends so much of the noise we deal with in life.
